London, August 10, 2024 — West Ham United has secured French centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo on a season-long loan from Ligue 1 side Nice. The deal, confirmed today, includes an option for West Ham to make the transfer permanent next summer for a fee of £34 million, with Nice retaining a sell-on clause.
Todibo, 24, had been heavily linked with Manchester United. However, the move was obstructed due to INEOS owning stakes in both Nice and Manchester United, preventing the transfer.
