Cristiano Ronaldo to Leave Al-Nassr for Real Madrid Ambassadorial Role
Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly looking to leave Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr in order to take up a new role at his former club Real Madrid. After signing a lucrative contract with Al-Nassr on a 200 million deal, Ronaldo has scored 11 goals in 14 matches for the team and helped them to a 2nd place finish in the league.
Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly looking to move away from Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr in order to take up a new role at his former club Real Madrid. The 36-year-old joined the Riyadh-based club in 2020 on a 200 million deal after a fallout with Manchester United.
Ronaldo has had a brilliant start to life at Al-Nassr, scoring 11 goals in 14 matches in all competitions. The club currently sits 2nd in the Saudi Pro League table and has a good chance of winning the title. However, Ronaldo has been unable to inspire a cup run, with the team falling short in the Saudi Arabian Super Cup and King Cup.
Now according to multiple reports, Ronaldo has been offered the position of club ambassador by his former club Real Madrid. The report further suggests that Ronaldo is looking to move out from Al-Nassr due to having failed to adapt to the region and the language barrier also playing a big part in his decision.
Ronaldo previously spent the best part of his career for Real Madrid. He netted 450 goals and provided 131 assists in 438 appearances for the Spanish giants. During his time in the Spanish capital, Ronaldo won 4 UEFA Champions Leagues, 2 La Ligas, 2 Copa del Reys, 2 UEFA Super Cups, 2 Spanish Super Cups and 3 Club World Cup titles.
Taking up the ambassadorial role at Real Madrid would mean that Ronaldo would have to hang up his boots, but there are still a lot of clubs who are interested in signing the Portuguese forward. Ronaldo’s current contract with Al-Nassr will end in 2024.
